Rafa Laboratories, Ltd. is a pharmaceutical company that has been specializing in the manufacture and marketing of medicines in the Israeli market since 1937. In addition, Rafa Laboratories, Ltd. markets medications manufactured by international corporations such as Dr. Falk Pharma, Helsinn Healthcare, Boehringer Ingelheim, Purdue Pharma, 3M Healthcare, United Therapeutics, Mundipharma and others. Rafa markets its products to the entire Israeli health market including the health funds (health maintenance organizations), hospitals, the government and private pharmacies.
One of Rafa Laboratories' major commitments is its specialization in the treatment of pain, especially chronic and cancer pain. The company has done pioneering work in the struggle against the under-treatment of pain in Israel and continues with the ongoing campaign for increased awareness and better treatment options in the management of pain.
The company markets a wide range of medical products in a variety of fields, most especially:

- Antibiotics
- Over-the-Counter medicines (OTC), the flagship of which is the Kalgaron series for sore throat. Other OTC products include teething pain gel and head-lice removal medicaments

- Treatments for rare pulmonary diseases like pulmonary arterial hypertension and respiratory distress syndrome in premature babies
- Generics such as fluconazole and lansoprazole

Today Rafa Laboratories, Ltd. employs about 190 employees, more than half of whom are academically qualified. In addition, Rafa has successfully absorbed new immigrants, many of whom are from the former Soviet Union, and is proud of the advancement of women to management positions in the company.
HISTORY
Rafa Laboratories, Ltd. began its activities in 1937 as a research laboratory in Mt. Scopus next to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In the early years the founder, Dr. Baruch S. Levin concentrated his efforts on the development and manufacture of veterinary vaccines, and at a later stage, human vaccines. The peak of this period was characterized by the production of small amounts of penicillin at Dr. Levin’s Laboratories.
After 1948 Rafa Laboratories, Ltd. grew significantly and produced large amounts of vaccines for the young Israeli nation. The connection with the University ended and Rafa became an independent factory, manufacturing medicines in the new industrial zone of Jerusalem.
Our offices are located in the Har Hotzvim science park in Jerusalem.
The Chairman of Rafa Laboratories today is Mr. Amir Levin, the grandson of Rafa's founder.
