Job Description:
The market access director will be responsible for gaining and maintaining formulary access and reimbursement for Rafa products and identifying trends or issues that may arise for Rafa's products across all sick funds.
Accountable for developing and implementing plans to effectively demonstrate and communicate the clinical and economic value of Rafa's products to internal and external customers.
Acting as a functional leader for market access activities that include, but are not limited to, assessing market access needs/trends, and developing and executing required market access strategies to optimize market access, adoption, and commercial success.
Contributing to annual brand planning by providing robust analysis and a strong payer value proposition and to forecasting, business planning, pricing, and budgeting processes
Create and develop quantitative business cases to support contracting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive market access strategies aligned with the company's business objectives in Israel.
- Conduct assessments of the local healthcare environment, payer landscape, and regulatory requirements to inform strategy development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate market access considerations into product development and commercialization plans.
- Identify opportunities and potential risks related to market access and develop mitigation strategies.
Reimbursement and Pricing:
- Lead the submission and negotiation process for product reimbursement with relevant governmental authorities and health insurance industry in Israel. The Market Access Director Responsible to plan and lead all aspects of Health basket process and coordinate the cross-functional team for timely preparation to secure NHB inclusion.
- Design and execute the PRA (Pricing & Reimbursement Affairs) Governance and the PRA Roadmap.
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize product value while ensuring affordability and market competitiveness.
- Setting optimal pricing and contracting strategy per market segments
- Conduct pricing and reimbursement analyses, including health economic evaluations, to support pricing and reimbursement decisions.
- Stay updated on pricing and reimbursement regulations and guidelines in Israel and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Acting as a functional leader for market access activities that include, but are not limited to, assessing market access needs/trends, and developing and executing required market access strategies to optimize market access, adoption, and commercial success.
- Ensuring robust pricing practices, tendering, contracting protocols and operations to ensure efficient and compliant organization.
- Contributing to annual brand planning by providing robust analysis and a strong payer value proposition and to forecasting, business planning and budgeting processes
- Demonstrate competency in the use of business analytics to evaluate profit/loss of business deals.
- Create and develop quantitative business cases to support contracting efforts in partnership with Affiliate finance team.
Market Access Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute market access plans for new product launches and existing product portfolio in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with the marketing teams to ensure appropriate messaging and value propositions for reimbursement and payer stakeholders.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including payers, policymakers, healthcare providers, and patient advocacy groups, to enhance market access opportunities.
- Monitor market access trends, policies, and competitor activities to identify potential challenges and opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governmental bodies, health insurers, pricing committees, and reimbursement authorities in Israel
- Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and discussions with payers and reimbursement authorities to advocate for optimal market access conditions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing to ensure alignment and integration of market access strategies.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to market access activities in Israel.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethics within the market access team and across the organization.
Requirements
- University degree (background in science, pharmaco/health economist or related, alternative background in finance/ business can also work).
- Extensive experience in leading complex market access projects (minimum 5 years)
- Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data, identify dependencies and think strategically.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to convene multisectoral stakeholders towards consensus-driven solutions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and deliver high-quality outcomes in a changing environment.
- Fluency in English
